The majority of limited liability companies operate in trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The National Statistics Committee has released updated data on the distribution of limited liability companies (LLCs) by economic activity as of 1 March 2025.
According to the report, 285,459 LLCs are registered in the country. The largest share operates in trade—105,732 companies, accounting for approximately 37% of the total. This confirms that trade remains the most popular and rapidly growing sector for small and medium-sized businesses.
The second-largest sector by the number of LLCs is industry, with 40,490 companies, followed by construction (24,710) and agriculture, forestry, and fishing (24,636).
Other key sectors include:
Accommodation and food services – 15,929
Transportation and storage – 14,658
Information and communication – 8,666
Healthcare and social services – 6,967
The remaining 43,671 LLCs operate in various other industries.
These figures indicate that, while trade dominates, LLCs are actively expanding across multiple sectors, contributing to economic diversification and job creation.
Experts note that this distribution structure reflects current economic trends and consumer demand, highlighting the importance of supporting small and medium-sized businesses for the country's sustainable development.
