The first flight of T'way Air arrives in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The South Korean low-cost airline T'way Air has officially launched regular passenger flights on the Seoul–Tashkent–Seoul route.
Flight TW-431 arrived at Tashkent International Airport on 23 May at 21:56. The plane, arriving from Seoul, was greeted with a traditional water salute, and the crew received flowers. On board were 216 passengers, including the popular Korean music group BLACKSWAN.
A representative of the airline, Kim Yoonkyung, expressed delight at the new route's launch: “We are very pleased to introduce Uzbekistan to our passengers. The inaugural flight from Seoul to Tashkent and back demonstrated strong demand. We thank Uzbekistan Airports for their warm welcome and plan to continue developing bilateral cooperation.”
Flights will operate four times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays — using modern Boeing 777-300 and Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Timur Khalilov, director of the handling company UzPort, emphasized the significance of attracting international carriers like T'way Air: “This is the result of our efforts to expand the flight network from Tashkent Airport and foster competition in the aviation sector. Today, Seoul is a popular destination for both tourists and business travelers. The South Korean low-cost carrier offers flexible fares and comfortable travel conditions between Uzbekistan and Korea.”
T'way Air is a South Korean low-cost airline founded in 2010, with its headquarters in Seoul.
