Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan has officially registered the “Andijan Tubeteika” (a traditional skullcap) as a geographical indication.

This traditional headwear is distinguished by the high quality of its fabrics, intricate patterns, distinctive shape, and its deep symbolic and aesthetic significance.

The Andijan Tubeteika reflects the rich artisanal traditions of the Andijan region, the local school of embroidery, and the cultural symbols unique to the area. Among the population, it is held in special regard and is considered a source of pride.

Registration as a geographical indication formally establishes the product’s origin and provides legal protection for its quality and cultural value.
