Technical Inspection Procedure for Elevators Approved in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan has approved a new regulation titled “On the Procedure for Conducting Technical Inspections of Elevators.”

According to the document, elevators installed in buildings and facilities and operating on a permanent basis are subject to mandatory periodic technical inspections at least once every 12 months.

Any elevator that has been newly installed or put into operation must undergo a preliminary technical inspection before being registered in a designated electronic information system.

This preliminary inspection must be carried out by a specialized organization within 10 working days of the contractor’s application.

Based on the results of the inspection, each elevator will be assigned an informational tag of a specific color indicating its technical condition:

Green — Fit for operation;

Blue — Minor faults detected;

Yellow — Malfunctioning;

Red — Dangerous for operation.

Elevators labeled with a red tag (deemed dangerous) must be immediately taken out of service.
