Tashkent plans to attract US$10 billion in investments in 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The mayor of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov, announced that Uzbekistan’s capital aims to secure US$10 billion in investments in 2025. He shared this in an interview with the Uzbekiston 24 television channel.
According to him, attracting investments remains a key priority, with projected figures significantly surpassing those of previous years. In particular, the investment volume in 2024 amounted to US$3 billion, while in 2023, it was even lower.
Official data indicates that in the first half of 2025, Tashkent expects to attract US$2.9 billion in investments, with US$2.8 billion coming from foreign sources. In the second half of the year, this figure is projected to reach US$3.9 billion, including US$3.8 billion in foreign investments. In total, capital inflows will amount to US$6.8 billion, with US$6.6 billion contributed by international investors.
As part of the investment program, 582 projects worth US$2.5 billion will be implemented in Tashkent in 2025, creating 27,500 new jobs. Of these, 488 projects totaling US$2.1 billion will focus on the service sector, while 94 projects worth US$428 million will be carried out in the industrial sector.
Additionally, authorities presented plans for the development of the construction industry, services, and manufacturing. Existing barriers hindering implementation were also discussed. The mayor highlighted two key challenges in the industrial sector, for which the president has issued specific directives to find solutions.
Furthermore, Tashkent’s authorities plan to increase the capital’s export volume to US$4.8 billion in 2025. Umurzakov expressed confidence that a systematic approach will facilitate investment attraction and strengthen the city’s economy.
