Tashkent Mayor and St. Petersburg Deputy Governor Discuss Creation of ‘St. Petersburg Quarter’

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov met with a delegation from St. Petersburg led by Deputy Governor Nikolay Linchenko to explore avenues of cooperation in urban planning and infrastructure development.

A key focus of the talks was the proposed creation of a “St. Petersburg Quarter” in the Yangi Tashkent district — a mixed-use residential and public space that will symbolize the growing interregional partnership between the two cities.

Both parties expressed keen interest in advancing joint initiatives aimed at building a comfortable urban environment, introducing modern architectural solutions, and improving the quality of life for Tashkent residents.
