Talks with Representatives of U.S. Bank Citi: Prospects for Cooperation Discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 June 2025, a meeting was held between a delegation from Citi, one of the largest banks in the United States, led by Client Management Director David Livingstone, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov.

The meeting was also attended by Citi Managing Director Genaro Pulat, Corporate Banking Director for Central Asia and the Caucasus Jason Zullo, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Khurshed Mustafoev, as well as other senior officials.

Citibank is one of the leading banks in the United States and is part of the global financial conglomerate Citigroup Inc. The bank specializes in providing financial services worldwide and maintains a presence in numerous countries.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current status and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, implementation of joint projects, and potential areas of collaboration, along with key aspects of Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development.

Particular attention was given to the ongoing socio-economic reforms in the country, the acceleration of privatization processes, development and enhancement of the competitiveness of state-owned enterprises, implementation of regional infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships—especially in electricity and water supply—comprehensive support for the private sector, cooperation on international sovereign credit ratings, Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization, reducing inflation, and ensuring macroeconomic stability.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed their readiness to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and expand dialogue in the identified areas.
