Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — One of the streets in Samarkand has been named after the city of Rome.

This event was held in connection with the outcomes of the high-level Uzbek-Italian talks, which took place at the International Congress Center, where a formal ceremony was held to confer the name “Rome” on the street.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the decision was made in recognition of the deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries, the high level of strategic partnership, and as a symbol of friendship and mutual respect between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Italy.
