Singapore considers launching direct flights to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of Uzbekistan Airports have held talks with officials from Changi Airport in Singapore, one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.

The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to expand Uzbekistan’s international air route network and boost the country’s tourism potential.

During the discussions, the two sides explored the prospects of launching direct flights between Tashkent and Singapore. Representatives from Singapore’s Changi Airport expressed strong interest in establishing the route, noting the growing enthusiasm among Singaporean travel companies for Uzbekistan as an emerging and attractive destination.

Special attention was given to the strategic role of Tashkent Airport as a key transit hub. Changi Airport officials emphasized that Tashkent’s extensive route network — including numerous European destinations — positions the Uzbek capital as a vital link for passenger flows between Europe and Asia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further cooperation and outlined the next steps to address logistical arrangements, marketing support, and the regulatory procedures required to initiate direct air service.
