Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 July, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the Uzbek leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity, continued success, and peace and well-being for the people of Uzbekistan.

The two sides discussed key issues related to strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership, with a focus on implementing the agreements reached during the summit held in Samarkand in April this year.

They noted the steady growth in mutual trade, the expansion of cooperation between businesses and enterprises of both countries, and the intensification of cultural and humanitarian ties.

The leaders also exchanged views on international and regional matters, including preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the upcoming Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State.
