Putin: Moscow and Tashkent to Jointly Address Migration Issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russia and Uzbekistan have agreed to develop a joint framework for addressing migration issues, including the advance training of specialists planning to work in the Russian Federation. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the heads of the world’s leading news agencies, organized by TASS.

“We fully understand how pressing issues of social policy and the labor market are today. President Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev and I have reached an agreement — we will address migration matters together. The Russian labor market is facing certain shortages, while Uzbekistan is also experiencing social pressures, and we have found common ground on how to proceed. It is important to prepare people in advance who wish to work in Russia,” the Russian leader noted.

Putin emphasized that particular attention is being paid to young people, as interaction between the younger generations of the two countries is becoming increasingly important and contributes to deepening bilateral cooperation.
