Prospects for cooperation siscussed with representatives of the World Bank
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 April, within the framework of the annual spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, a meeting took place between the Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, Antonella Bassani, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the World Bank for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia, Sameh Wahba, the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Timur Ishmetov, and other key representatives.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on current projects being implemented within the framework of cooperation, their results, and prospects for further expanding interaction. Special attention was given to critical issues such as agricultural development, improvement of irrigation systems, modernization of infrastructure projects, and enhancing the efficiency of joint efforts.
Additionally, the participants discussed projects carried out under public-private partnerships, including the modernization of the energy supply system, creation of sustainable heating systems, improving energy efficiency, and implementing effective water resource management.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to expand and further deepen mutual cooperation, as well as to conduct systematic and efficient work to achieve the set goals.
