Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 June, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, held a telephone conversation, warmly congratulating each other and their nations on the occasion of the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha, and extending sincere wishes for peace, stability, and prosperity.

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed key issues related to further deepening the multifaceted Uzbek-Iranian partnership. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the active pace of political and business contacts, as well as the growing volume of bilateral trade, increased cargo transportation, and the expansion of joint ventures.

Particular emphasis was placed on the outcomes of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, business forum, and industrial exhibition held in Tehran in May, during which a cooperation roadmap for 2025–2027 was adopted.

The presidents underscored the importance of advancing joint projects in trade, investment, transport and logistics, as well as the industrial and agricultural sectors.

They also exchanged views on current regional issues and coordinated the schedule of upcoming bilateral events.
