Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the Foreign Investors Council meeting, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with a delegation of top Saudi companies, led by Co-Chair of the Uzbek-Saudi Business Council and Chairman of ACWA Power, Mohammad Abunayyan.

The meeting was also attended by senior executives from Vision Invest and Riyadh Cables.

The two sides discussed concrete steps to strengthen practical cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s business community and accelerate the implementation of priority investment projects across Uzbekistan.

The President expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of partnerships with ACWA Power and other Saudi firms, which have proven to be reliable partners.

The total value of the joint investment portfolio has now reached US$24 billion. Large-scale initiatives are being successfully implemented in the field of renewable energy, including the launch of Uzbekistan’s first green hydrogen production facility in Tashkent region.

The discussion also focused on promising projects in areas such as modernization and digitalization of the national power grid, development of the electrical engineering industry, deployment of advanced technologies in IT, transportation, utilities, and other sectors critical to the country’s sustainable development.
