Presentation of the Book “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 August, Tashkent hosted the presentation of the book by President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights”, published for the first time in Uzbek.

The event was jointly organized by the China Society for Human Rights Studies, the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan.

The presentation brought together Jiang Jianguo, Standing Member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and Executive Vice President of the China Society for Human Rights Studies; Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights; Yu Jun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Uzbekistan; Yu Tao, Deputy Head of the Department for Publishing and Distribution of Foreign Language Literature of the PRC; along with representatives of the diplomatic corps, academia, government agencies, public organizations, media, and human rights experts from China and Uzbekistan.

In their remarks, the speakers emphasized the significance of the book “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights” as an authoritative source that reveals China’s conceptual approaches to human rights protection. They noted that its publication in Uzbek creates new opportunities for academic exchange, deepening interstate dialogue, and expanding humanitarian cooperation.

At the conclusion of the event, guests and participants received complimentary copies of the Uzbek-language edition of Xi Jinping’s book “On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights.”
