Over 500 Prohibited Items Seized at Tashkent Airport Since the Beginning of the Year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The International Airport of Tashkent continues systematic efforts to ensure aviation security.

The Aviation Security Service conducts daily thorough inspections of passengers’ luggage and carry-on items, helping to identify and prevent potential threats in a timely manner.

From 1 January to 30 August 2025, authorities confiscated 535 items prohibited for air transport. These included cold weapons (knives, daggers, brass knuckles), ammunition and its replicas, pyrotechnics, gas and pepper sprays, batons, stun guns, chemicals, as well as dual-use items such as toy weapons, keychain bullets, and drones.

The Aviation Security Service emphasized that even seemingly harmless items, such as souvenir bullets or toy pistols, can raise serious concerns, potentially causing flight delays or onboard incidents.

Passengers are strongly advised to familiarize themselves in advance with the list of prohibited items to avoid inconveniences and to contribute to the safe and reliable operation of air transportation.
