Operation of CNG Filling Stations Resumes in Fergana Valley After Completion of Installation Works

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 6 September, the operation of automobile gas-filling compressor stations (CNG stations) in the Fergana Valley has resumed, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

The ministry noted that an additional section of nearly 22 km was connected on the mountainous segment of the Akhangaran–Pungan main gas pipeline, which supplies fuel to the region, and installation works have been completed.

Gas supply to the CNG stations and major enterprises in Andijan region was restored at 20:00, and in Fergana and Namangan regions at 21:00. According to the Ministry of Energy, the commissioning of the new gas pipeline will enhance the reliability of gas supply for consumers in the valley.

Gas flow through the Akhangaran–Pungan pipeline had been suspended on September 4 for one and a half days. During this period, Uzbekneftegaz increased gasoline deliveries to the valley’s regions, raising sales sevenfold—from 250–300 liters to 2,000 liters, the company reported.
