Neo Space Group and Uzbekistan Airways to collaborate on advanced in-flight connectivity services
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Neo Space Group (NSG), a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) and a leading provider of commercial space services in the Kingdom, has announced a strategic partnership with Uzbekistan Airways. The agreement aims to implement advanced in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies on the airline’s A321neo aircraft.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in the modernization of the aviation sector in Central Asia. With this new collaboration, passengers will gain access to high-speed internet throughout the flight, enhancing comfort levels and helping Uzbekistan Airways achieve its ambitious goal of becoming a regional leader.
The next-generation technology from NSG will fundamentally change the in-flight experience on Uzbekistan Airways’ aircraft, providing continuous internet connectivity, including on long-haul routes, starting from 2026.
Thanks to multi-layered satellite coverage provided in collaboration with the SES Open Orbits™ network, passengers will be able to seamlessly enjoy video streaming, real-time communication, and work in the air without restrictions.
This initiative aligns perfectly with Uzbekistan Airways’ strategy to enhance the customer experience and expand its route network.
According to Philippe Carette, NSG’s Chief Operating Officer and President of the company’s satellite communications division, the partnership with the Uzbek national carrier is symbolic: "Uzbekistan Airways is setting new standards for in-flight communication across the region, and we are honored to support them in this direction. Our technologies enable passengers to stay connected at any point on the route, changing the concept of air communication. This partnership reflects NSG’s commitment to providing advanced digital solutions for the aviation industry and expanding the potential of IFC in new markets."
Shukhrat Khudoykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, also highlighted the importance of digital transformation: "As the national carrier, we strive to meet global service quality standards. The collaboration with NSG opens up new opportunities for us — now our passengers will not only stay connected but also make productive use of their time in-flight. We are confident that access to the internet at 35,000 feet is not a luxury but a necessity for modern travel. We are proud to offer this service to our customers."
The project to implement NSG’s connectivity systems on Uzbekistan Airways’ aircraft will be part of a larger program for the digital transformation of civil aviation in Central Asia. With the growing global demand for in-flight internet access, Uzbekistan Airways is strengthening its position as a technologically advanced carrier by integrating modern digital solutions into its fleet.
The launch of the new service is expected in early 2026, with the first A321neo aircraft equipped with the IFC system. The system will then be gradually rolled out to other aircraft of this type.
NSG’s modern IFC solution includes the Skywaves® traffic management system developed by Display Interactive, featuring the intuitive SkyFly interface, supported by multi-satellite connectivity.
The SES Open Orbits™ network ensures high-speed internet with low latency, and NSG’s collaboration with leading aerospace companies allows for flexible hardware solutions, ensuring efficient and rapid technology integration onboard.
