Mirziyoyev and Putin Discuss Expansion of Uzbek-Russian Strategic Partnership in Beijing
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Beijing between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Russian head of state warmly congratulated President Mirziyoyev and the multiethnic people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day, expressing his wishes for well-being, sustainable development, and prosperity.
The parties discussed the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, paying particular attention to the practical implementation of agreements reached at previous high-level meetings.
The need for coordinated measures to maintain the momentum of trade, economic, and investment cooperation was emphasized, along with the acceleration of preparation and implementation of projects in priority sectors of the economy, and the development of regional cooperation, including through joint industrial parks.
The fruitful humanitarian interaction between the countries was also noted, primarily in the fields of culture, art, science, and education. The leaders also exchanged views on key issues of the international agenda.
