Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 August, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade hosted a meeting between Acting Deputy Minister Akram Aliev and representatives of French aircraft manufacturers Airbus and ATR.

The talks were attended by Jacques Garrigue, Vice President of Sales at Airbus, and Jérôme Gabory, Vice President of Sales at ATR.

Founded in 1981 as a joint venture between Airbus and Italy’s Leonardo, ATR is the global leader in the production of turboprop regional aircraft. Over its history, the company has delivered more than 1,700 aircraft to over 200 operators in 100 countries.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of civil aviation, including modernization and renewal of Uzbekistan’s fleet — steps that will improve transport accessibility and stimulate tourism development.

Special attention was given to the development of regional air transport, deliveries of ATR aircraft, the establishment of maintenance centers, and the implementation of aviation personnel training programs in line with international standards.
