Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held at the Agency for Strategic Reforms with Sergey Popov, a representative of the international payment system Mastercard, to discuss the development of a Comprehensive Plan aimed at increasing the share of cashless payments in Uzbekistan.

Sergey Popov confirmed Mastercard’s readiness to contribute to this initiative by sharing international best practices and effective solutions for reducing reliance on cash. He presented a series of successful case studies implemented in various countries and outlined tools and approaches that could be tailored to the Uzbek context.

The discussion placed particular emphasis on the development of payment infrastructure, the introduction of innovative financial products, the incentivization of market participants, and the promotion of financial literacy among the general public.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to jointly develop the Comprehensive Plan and continue their collaboration on its practical implementation.
