Production line will be commissioned in the first half of 2012. Currently, assembling-commissioning works and tests of production lines are underway.
In 2009, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG and Uzavtosanoat created MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV on assembly of trucks and other equipment in Samarkand. The charter capital of the venture is 3 million euros. Uzavtosanoat holds 51% stake in the venture, and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge – 49%.
Within the first stage (2011-2013) of the project, it is planned to construct assembly, painting shops, diagnosis areas, which will be designed for production of 6,000 trucks and chassis of MAN a year at two shift work. There will be opportunity to increase capacity up to 10,000 units a year. The company also opened dealer and service centers.
Later, it is planned to launch production of cabs and carriage frame for MAN vehicles on full technological circle and create capacities on production of all range of trailers and other equipment.
Overall, it is expected that the capacity of new plant will reach 20,000 units of vehicles a year. The project will be financed due to investments of founders and loans.
The construction of the first stage with the cost of US$29.4 million was conducted due to own resources of founders of the venture – US$27.3 million and foreign investments – US$2.1 million.
