Malaysia’s Nexus Green Resources to Invest in Small Hydropower Projects in Kashkadarya
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Malaysian company Nexus Green Resources Sdn Bhd, led by CEO Badrul Hisham and Chairman Ng Soo Boon, visited Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region to explore investment opportunities in small-scale hydropower, according to the “Dunyo” news agency.
The visit, organized with support from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, focused on assessing potential sites for constructing small hydropower plants on rivers and irrigation canals in the region.
During talks with regional governor Murodjon Azimov, both parties discussed prospects for cooperation. The local authorities assured the investors of full support for the project.
The Malaysian side expressed readiness to implement the initiative in partnership with local organizations, emphasizing the importance of efficient water resource management.
As part of the visit, Nexus Green Resources experts, together with representatives of China’s Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co., Ltd., conducted on-site inspections of potential project locations.
The delegation is also expected to take part in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, where a term sheet agreement is set to be signed between the Kashkadarya regional administration, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, and Nexus Green Resources Sdn Bhd.
