Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A tragic incident occurred in Bukhara district of Bukhara region, where a young child died after being electrocuted at a private kindergarten, according to a statement from the regional prosecutor’s office.

The incident took place on March 28 of this year. Preliminary reports indicate that the teacher, identified as M.D., acted negligently by leaving the children unsupervised. As a result, one of the children — born in 2023 — suffered a fatal electric shock.

In April, the district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — “Improper Performance of Professional Duties.”

On June 18, the case materials were submitted to the court for substantive review.
