Khorezm Region Leads Uzbekistan in Fish Catch Volume

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first half of 2025, all categories of enterprises across the country caught 53.2 thousand tons of fish, marking an increase of 9.4% compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee.

Khorezm region remains the leader in fish catch, with 9.4 thousand tons harvested, accounting for 17.7% of the country’s total catch.

Other regions with significant catches include Tashkent region with 5.4 thousand tons, Jizzakh with 5.2 thousand tons, Andijan with 4.9 thousand tons, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Syrdarya region, each with 4.6 thousand tons.

Smaller volumes were recorded in Navoiy region (4 thousand tons), Fergana (3.8 thousand tons), Samarkand and Namangan regions (3 thousand tons each), Bukhara (2.4 thousand tons), Surkhandarya (1.8 thousand tons), and Kashkadarya region (1.1 thousand tons).
