Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 8 to 10 August, Khiva welcomed the “Melon Festival – 2025,” a vibrant gastronomic and cultural event organized by the Tourism Committee and the Khorezm regional administration. The celebration brought together the traditions of melon cultivation, crafts, and tourism, becoming a notable highlight in the region’s cultural life.

The festival’s main venues — the historic “Ichan-Kala” complex and the modern tourist center “Arda Khiva” — were filled with the aroma of sweet melons, the sounds of folk music, theatrical performances, and bustling fairs.

Nineteen exhibition stands showcased districts of Khorezm Region, leading farms, and enterprises that presented dozens of melon varieties, their products, technologies, and achievements. The best participants received well-deserved awards and prizes.

Visitors had the chance to taste different varieties of melons, interact with producers, and learn about the region’s agricultural traditions.

Alongside tastings and exhibitions, the festival featured a rich cultural program: performances by folk ensembles, masterclasses in cooking national dishes, craft fairs, and traditional games. Particularly popular were traditional sporting competitions and outdoor culinary demonstrations.

The celebration concluded with concerts featuring renowned artists from Uzbekistan and abroad. The stage hosted DJ Endigo, the legendary Tokhir Sadykov, popular singer JONY, and other talented musicians.

The festival showcased the tourism and agricultural potential of the Khorezm Region, creating a festive atmosphere and attracting the attention of both local residents and foreign visitors.
