Italian-Uzbek business breakfast: A new dialogue format to strengthen trade and economic cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 February, the first Italian-Uzbek business breakfast was held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, and the Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan, Pergabriele Papadia de Bottini.
The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Italy amounts to US$437.9 million. Specifically, Uzbekistan’s exports of goods and services to Italy reached US$44.6 million, while imports from Italy to Uzbekistan totaled US$393.4 million.
The event brought together leading companies from Uzbekistan and Italy engaged in export-import operations, as well as representatives of Italian business missions and trade offices operating in Uzbekistan.
Among the participants were major companies such as PROCAB, BMB GROUP, DAKA-INTEX, Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, PODIUM ITALIA, NEW MILLENNIUM, MEDEXPORT ITALIA, NATUZZI, FIAT, and others.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, creating a favorable business environment, and exploring promising areas of collaboration across various economic sectors.
Participants shared their experiences, proposed improvements to the business climate, and put forward initiatives aimed at fostering mutually beneficial partnerships. Special attention was given to addressing challenges faced by entrepreneurs in both countries and discussing state and industry-level support mechanisms.
This business breakfast served as an important platform for strengthening dialogue between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Italy, further deepening trade and economic ties between the two nations.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan plans to organize similar business breakfasts with representatives of other diplomatic missions in 2025. This format opens new opportunities for expanding international business cooperation and enhancing the country’s investment climate.
