ICAO evaluates Uzbekistan’s progress in aviation safety
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Director of the Uzbekistan Civil Aviation Agency ("Uzaviation") Tahir Nazarov met with Nicolas Rallo, Director of the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office.
The discussions, which included representatives from "Uzaviation" and the Ministry of Transport, focused on integrating ICAO standards into Uzbekistan’s national legislation. Nicolas Rallo reviewed the findings of the ICAO audit conducted in 2023 and assessed the corrective measures implemented to address identified shortcomings.
During his visit, Rallo also held separate meetings with executives and staff from Uzbekistan Airways, Centrum Air, Qanot Sharq, and Air Samarkand.
The negotiations covered strategic plans, achievements, and pressing issues related to the development of Uzbekistan’s airlines.
Representatives of Centrum Air, Qanot Sharq, and Air Samarkand announced their plans to undergo the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) in the near future, reaffirming their commitment to meeting international aviation safety standards.
