Group of Ukrainian Children Arrives in Tashkent for Rest and Rehabilitation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the initiative and with the full support of Uzbekistan, a group of Ukrainian children has arrived in Tashkent ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday for a 12-day program of rest and psychological rehabilitation, the Embassy of Ukraine in Tashkent said.
The humanitarian mission includes children from various regions of Ukraine affected by ongoing hostilities, including Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv.
The initiative was implemented in response to a request from the Embassy of Ukraine and aims to support the children's psychological and emotional recovery, offering them a break from the constant air raid alerts and missile strikes that have become part of their daily lives.
Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, the children and accompanying adults were greeted with a warm welcome. They were then taken to a picturesque valley at the foot of the Tien Shan Mountains. The evening reception at the wellness camp took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The program is rich and reflects an unprecedented level of engagement by Uzbekistan’s state institutions. Virtually all relevant ministries and government agencies are involved in organizing the visit. Each day will feature themed events — from “National Traditions Day” to “Sports and Wellness Day” — as well as creative contests, excursions, and educational activities.
