Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has introduced a system for state procurement using corporate bank cards, following the approval of a corresponding regulation by the government.

The document governs the process of cashless state procurement in the national currency through procurement cards issued to government customers.

To conduct such transactions, the procuring entity must apply to the issuing bank to open a settlement account designated for procurement card use. Additionally, a separate bank transit account is created for each budgetary customer’s ledger account at the issuing bank.

The regulation strictly prohibits transferring salaries, pensions, allowances, scholarships, dividends, and similar payments onto procurement cards. Furthermore, the cards cannot be used to withdraw cash or purchase foreign currency.
