German companies propose advanced solutions for biodiversity protection in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 February, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Ilzat Kasimov, held negotiations with representatives of the German companies BioConsult and ProTecBird.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in artificial intelligence-based software development, big data analysis, and the implementation of bird collision prevention systems for wind farms.

International experts presented the AVES Wind system, showcasing its real-time bird detection and identification capabilities both during the day and at night. Special attention was given to adapting the technology to Uzbekistan’s specific environmental conditions.

The presentation covered the system’s technical specifications, accuracy, and efficiency, as well as integration considerations in line with the country's climatic and ecological characteristics, including bird migration routes and national regulations.

The importance of innovative solutions in minimizing the impact of wind energy on biodiversity was emphasized, particularly in protecting rare and migratory bird species. The discussion also explored opportunities for scientific collaboration and data exchange to further study the environmental effects of wind energy.

ProTecBird representatives expressed their intention to establish an official presence in Uzbekistan. Key aspects of forming a local team were analyzed, including specialist recruitment and training, research infrastructure, and potential partnerships with local universities and research institutions.

Additionally, the potential for Uzbekistan to serve as a strategic hub for ProTecBird’s expansion into Central Asia was discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to implement ProTecBird's technologies in Uzbekistan.
