German Brands Show Interest in Joint Projects in Fergana Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Fergana region, led by Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov, is currently on a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. The purpose of the visit is to expand interregional investment, trade-economic, and social cooperation.
Germany, one of Uzbekistan’s largest trade and investment partners in the European Union, is showing increasing interest in regional projects across the country. During the visit, the Fergana delegation held a series of meetings with leading companies and financial institutions in Frankfurt am Main.
Particular attention was paid to negotiations with representatives of the well-known German company Engelbert Strauss, a manufacturer of workwear and protective equipment. Discussions focused on the prospects of establishing a joint venture in Fergana.
The delegation also met with the management of Weitblick, one of the leading producers of professional clothing for the hospitality, logistics, healthcare, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The company’s products are distributed throughout Europe, and its logistics network spans Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Specific steps toward organizing the production of workwear in the Fergana region were discussed with Uwe Bayer, Director of Production and Engineering.
This visit marks an important step toward attracting German investors to the region and elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
