EU adds Uzbek companies to sanctions list
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The European Union has included companies from Uzbekistan in its sanctions list as part of the 16th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
The EU Council has added 53 entities from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, India, Singapore, Türkiye, the UAE, and Uzbekistan to a list of organizations suspected of circumventing sanctions against Russia. The statement does not specify the number or names of the Uzbek companies affected.
The sanctions impose stricter export controls on dual-use goods and technologies, as well as products that could contribute to the development of Russia’s defense sector.
According to the EU, the sanctioned companies were involved in bypassing trade restrictions or supplying sensitive goods, including components for drones and missiles used in Russian military operations.
