EBRD President to Visit Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will visit Uzbekistan on 10–11 June 2025 for a working visit that includes meetings with the country’s leadership and representatives of the international business community.
During her stay, Renaud-Basso is scheduled to hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as bilateral meetings with Deputy Prime Ministers Jamshid Khodjaev, who also serves as Uzbekistan’s EBRD Governor, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Minister of Economy and Finance.
She will serve as co-chair at the third plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council and deliver a keynote speech at the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
As part of the visit, the EBRD is expected to sign a number of investment agreements focused on developing sustainable infrastructure and supporting Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.
Uzbekistan has remained the EBRD’s largest recipient of financing in Central Asia for five consecutive years. Since the start of cooperation, the Bank has invested approximately €5.6 billion across 181 projects in the country, with a strong emphasis on private sector support and sustainable development.
