Earthquake in Kyrgyzstan felt in parts of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Seismic tremors from an earthquake in Kyrgyzstan were felt in several regions of Uzbekistan.
According to the Republican Center for Seismic Monitoring, the earthquake occurred at 03:03 local time on 11 May in the Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic. The intensity at the epicenter measured 3.1 on the seismic scale.
Tremors were felt in the following areas of Uzbekistan:
Pakhtaabad District — 2–3 magnitude, 15 km from the epicenter;
Izboskan District — 2 magnitude, 20 km;
Uchkurgan District — 2 magnitude, 21 km.
The distance from the epicenter to the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, was 263 kilometers to the southeast.
