Driver fined in Samarkand for performing drift on public road

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Samarkand, law enforcement authorities fined the driver of a VAZ car who performed a drift on a public road, obstructing other traffic participants, the regional Department of Road Safety reported.

The incident involved a VAZ-2101, footage of which circulated on social media and caught the attention of the police. The driver’s identity was established, an administrative protocol was drawn up, and the vehicle was towed to an impound lot.

The driver faces a fine of up to 25 sizes of basic estimated value (approximately 10.3 million soums) and disqualification from driving for a period of one to two years. The case has been forwarded to court for consideration.
