Documents on Cooperation Between Uzbek Regions and Saint Petersburg Signed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Negotiations were held in Tashkent between a delegation of Uzbek regions led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and a delegation from Saint Petersburg headed by Governor Alexander Beglov.
The parties confirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic partnership and expressed readiness to further expand interregional cooperation.
As a result of the meeting, two documents were signed — the Protocol of Negotiations and the Plan of Practical Measures. These outline the development of collaboration in areas such as trade, industrial cooperation, transport, housing and utilities, education, science, culture, tourism, and sports.
Special attention was given to priority investment projects covering construction, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, the agro-industrial complex, raw material processing, building materials production, and the development of tourism infrastructure.
The implementation of the agreements is expected to strengthen economic ties, create new jobs, and expand export potential, serving as an important factor for sustainable socio-economic development in the regions of Uzbekistan and Saint Petersburg.
