Digitalization of Household Waste Collection Begins with the “Toza Poytaxt” System In Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A comprehensive digitalization of the household waste collection process is launching in Tashkent. The city hokimiyat held a discussion on the new software system “Toza Poytaxt” (“Clean Capital”), presented by Bobur Abdurakhimov, head of the Secretariat for Information Technology Issues.

This system will enable the organization of waste collection machinery operations linked to specific mahallas and aligned with approved schedules. Responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and order in their territories will lie with the Committee for Ecology, the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, the National Guard, and the mahalla leadership group known as the “mahallin seven.”

The “Toza Poytaxt” program will launch in a test mode as soon as tomorrow in the Almazar district, with plans to roll it out across all other city districts by 1 September. The main goal of the project is to keep the capital clean, monitor the operation of special vehicles, and improve service quality by controlling the garbage collection and removal process.

The system will track the movement of machinery on the internal streets of mahallas, record waste volumes, assess the quality of services provided to legal entities, and monitor the sanitary condition of central and inner streets. All data will be collected automatically without human involvement. Additionally, the system will automatically register cases of missed work and locations where garbage was not collected.

Furkat Makhmudhodjaev, head of the Tashkent Mahallas Association, supported the initiative, emphasizing that the new system will significantly ease the work of mahalla chairpersons and the mahallin seven. Representatives from the State Enterprise “Makhsubstrans,” the Committee for Ecology, and the National Guard also shared their suggestions and opinions.
