Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Shohruh Gulamov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, held talks with representatives of General Motors and UzAuto Motors to discuss the current status and future prospects of cooperation in the automotive sector.

The discussion focused on privatization, improving production efficiency, and expanding localization of auto components.

Special attention was given to the transformation process of UzAuto Motors and attracting strategic investors within the framework of privatization. Key aspects of the legal and institutional framework ensuring transparency and predictability of this process were thoroughly examined, along with government support measures aimed at creating favorable conditions for foreign partners.

The parties expressed mutual interest in maintaining and strengthening the strategic partnership, focused on developing export potential, introducing modern technologies, and expanding production capacities.

Following the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue on key issues related to the privatization of the enterprise, joint development of production resources, and expansion of long-term cooperation.
