Delegation from the Korean Environment Institute Visits Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 11 to 15 August 2025, a delegation from the Korean Environment Institute (KEI, Republic of Korea) is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.
The trip was organized as part of the ongoing cooperation outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed on 24 March 2025, in the Republic of Korea.
During meetings and negotiations, discussions focused on improving the environmental impact assessment system and strategic environmental assessment in Uzbekistan, digitizing these processes, developing environmental monitoring, and expanding public participation.
Special attention was given to exchanging international experience and implementing joint projects in these areas.
Participants included Dr. Sangyun Lee, senior researcher of the environmental impact assessment group at KEI; Sh. Nurullaev, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Scientific Work, and Innovation at the University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change of Central Asia (Green University); as well as other specialized experts.
To strengthen partnership ties, a tree-planting ceremony took place at the “Ecological Garden” of the State Center for Environmental Expertise, located on the campus of Green University.
