Court holds company executive `ccountable for repeated violation of advertising law

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Development and Consumer Protection Committee of Uzbekistan has ensured that the director of MO'JIZA HONEYMOON LLC is held accountable for repeated violations of advertising regulations.

Earlier, the Special Commission of the Territorial Department of the Competition Committee in the Fergana region initiated proceedings against the company for failing to comply with the requirements of the Law "On Advertising," resulting in a financial penalty. The violation involved the dissemination of advertising materials that attributed medicinal properties to the company's products, misleading consumers. The advertisements referenced cases of recovery allegedly linked to their consumption.

Despite orders to rectify the violations and prevent their recurrence, the company’s management failed to take appropriate measures, and the unlawful advertisements continued to appear. As a result, the Special Commission documented a repeated violation and submitted the case to the court for administrative sanctions.

Following the court proceedings, the company’s director was found guilty and held administratively liable.

The Committee reminded business owners that failure to comply with orders and decisions aimed at eliminating violations, as well as continuing illegal activities after administrative penalties have been imposed, could lead to criminal liability.
