Cooperation with Marubeni on PPP and green economy discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 March, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhomjon Umrzakov held a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Marubeni Corporation.
The meeting was attended by Kensuke Nishiyama, Head of Marubeni’s Representative Office in Uzbekistan, newly appointed director Yasuaki Fujii, and officials from the ministry.
Marubeni Corporation, founded in 1858, is a major international trading and investment company with 131 branches and offices worldwide and a workforce of over 45,000 employees. The company is actively engaged in industries such as infrastructure, energy, and the green economy.
During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for cooperation in public-private partnerships (PPP) and green economy initiatives.
Special emphasis was placed on the development of PPP mechanisms within Uzbekistan’s economy, ensuring environmental sustainability, and advancing green economy projects.
Marubeni Corporation representatives expressed their willingness to share expertise in renewable energy development, water supply, and environmentally friendly industrial technologies in Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reached an agreement on the implementation of promising projects and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties between Uzbekistan and Japan.
