Construction Begins on TULPOR Tractor Plant in Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction has officially commenced on a plant for the production of agricultural machinery under the TULPOR brand in the city of Kuvasay, Ferghana region, within the Pakana mahalla.

The new project is being implemented by FERGHANA TULPOR MACHINERY LLC as part of the Kokand Free Economic Zone branch.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Ferghana region governor Khayrullo Bozorov, regional prosecutor Bakhtiyor Ismailov, head of the regional police department Azizbek Ikramov, representatives of the city administration, business circles, and Chinese investors.

In his speech at the event, the regional governor emphasized that the idea for the project was formed during a recent visit to China, where productive talks were held with company leadership. The project, now underway, marks a major joint initiative made possible by the strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and China.

He noted that the friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries continue to create favorable conditions for foreign investors. As a result, China has become one of Uzbekistan’s key trading partners, with bilateral trade exceeding US$13 billion in 2024.

The plant will be built on a 7-hectare site, with the first phase of investment totaling US$30 million. Over the next three years, the project is expected to expand to US$300 million. Production will target both the domestic market and exports to Central Asian countries, the CIS, and other nearby regions.

The factory will manufacture tractors of various capacities — from compact models for gardening to heavy-duty machines with engines up to 400 horsepower. The equipment will feature original design and be specifically adapted to local operating conditions.

Chinese partners expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome, comprehensive support, and the Uzbek side’s willingness for open dialogue and cooperation. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs, making a significant contribution to the region’s economic development.

Following the official ceremony, the foundation stone was laid, and guests were presented with the first models of TULPOR tractors, which will soon be assembled at the new facility.
