Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Red Dragonfly, a well-known Chinese footwear brand, is preparing to launch new investment projects in Uzbekistan, following high-level discussions with Uzcharmsanoat Association.

During a recent meeting, Mirsaid Zakhidov, Deputy Chairman of Uzcharmsanoat, and Red Dragonfly executives reviewed the implementation of initial agreements reached in 2024 between Uzcharmsanoat Chairman Akbar Sultanov and company representatives.

Key topics of discussion included importing footwear components from China, customs regulations, and VAT policies. The parties also explored establishing a Red Dragonfly production facility in Uzbekistan, with plans to export products to Russia.

It is worth noting that at the Uzbekistan-China Business Forum in Chengdu (2024), Red Dragonfly’s parent company, Zhejiang Red Dragonfly Shoes, committed to a US$10 million investment project in Uzbekistan.

The initiative is expected to boost Uzbekistan’s footwear industry, generate new jobs, and introduce competitive products to the global market.

In the coming months, Red Dragonfly representatives will visit industrial zones in Samarkand, Jizzakh, and other regions to finalize the production site selection.
