China’s Woerde Group and Ferghana Regional Government agree to open trade houses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese company Woerde Group has reached an agreement with the administration of Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region to open bilateral trade houses, according to the regional government’s press service.
Ferghana regional governor Khayrullo Bazarov met with a delegation of entrepreneurs from China’s Shandong Province, led by Woerde Group Chairman Lin Bo. The parties discussed the implementation of agreements made during the Uzbek delegation’s visit to China in April.
Particular attention was paid to the growing interest of Chinese investors in the economic development of Ferghana. Discussions also included the potential creation of a special technology park in the region to host enterprises backed by investors from Shandong. Delegates presented a proposed project to establish a metal pipe manufacturing facility within the planned industrial zone.
Governor Bazarov expressed full support for investment initiatives aimed at expanding industrial infrastructure in the region. Following the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation that includes plans to open a Shandong trade house in Ferghana and a Ferghana trade house in Shandong.
