Centrum Air hosts largest aviation spotter tour aboard its first Airbus A330
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 May, Centrum Air organized the largest aviation-themed event in its history, hosting a major tour for aviation spotters.
More than 50 participants — including professional photographers, bloggers, media representatives, and aviation enthusiasts — took part in a special flight from Tashkent to Urgench aboard the airline’s first wide-body Airbus A330, which was recently added to its fleet.
The arrival of the A330 marks a significant milestone in Centrum Air’s development strategy. The new aircraft can accommodate 347 passengers, nearly twice the capacity of the previously operated A320s. It also offers enhanced cargo capabilities, with up to 10 tons of freight per flight segment.
“The introduction of a wide-body aircraft opens new opportunities for Centrum Air. We aim to offer convenient and affordable flights on priority routes, including Saudi Arabia, China, and Thailand. The Airbus A330 will be a cornerstone of our strategy to expand our flight network,” said Andrey Osintsev, Centrum Air’s Marketing Director.
The A330’s inaugural flight with aviation spotters was a symbolic gesture of openness and a commitment to fostering an aviation culture in Uzbekistan. Urgench — a historic city along the Great Silk Road — was chosen as the destination, highlighting the airline’s ambition to position Uzbekistan as a promising regional transit and tourism hub.
Centrum Air continues to strengthen its standing as a dynamic next-generation carrier focused on innovation, accessibility, and passenger comfort.
