Banking Supervision Committee Reviewed Over Fifty Issues in August

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During its meetings in August 2025, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank held nine sessions and reviewed 51 issues, making corresponding decisions.

In the area of registration and licensing, 32 issues were considered, including amendments to the charters of credit institutions (9), registration of newly established microfinance organizations (8), granting permissions to own shares of credit institutions’ charter capital (3), removal of a microfinance organization from the register (2), issuance of auditor qualification certificates for bank audits (1), and consideration of candidates for supervisory boards and management of commercial banks, as well as key personnel (9).

Additionally, 19 issues were examined concerning the financial condition of credit institutions, compliance with Central Bank and prudential requirements, results of inspections in commercial banks and microfinance organizations, and matters related to countering money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Following inspections, 14 banks and 2 payment organizations received warnings or sanctions for violations of prudential norms, failure to implement recovery plans for problem debts, and breaches identified during audits.

Penalties were also imposed on 9 banks, 6 microfinance organizations, and 4 pawnshops for violations of Central Bank requirements and rules on countering money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Furthermore, due to non-compliance with the minimum charter capital requirements, the license of one bank was revoked.
