Bakhtiyor Saidov: Uzbekistan Calls for Unity, Dialogue, and Justice in the Islamic World
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 June, in Istanbul, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, took part in the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In his statement following the event, published on his official Telegram channel, the Uzbek foreign minister emphasized the particular importance of this session amid a volatile and tense international environment.
“We have gathered during a period of extremely complex geopolitical conditions. It is precisely at such times that it becomes especially important to consolidate our efforts and develop constructive solutions based on diplomatic mechanisms. Uzbekistan has consistently advocated — and continues to advocate — for dialogue and peaceful negotiations between all parties to conflicts,” said the minister.
He highlighted that Central Asia has demonstrated a high level of solidarity, showing in practice that coordinated actions and mutual understanding can lead to optimal solutions even on the most sensitive issues — all in the interest of the region’s peoples.
Bakhtiyor Saidov placed particular emphasis on Uzbekistan’s stance, which is rooted in the principles of unity, justice, and dialogue, especially at a time when the Islamic world is facing growing challenges and conflicts.
“Once again, we reaffirmed our firm commitment to achieving peace, upholding international law, and supporting humanitarian initiatives aimed at protecting human dignity and ensuring a sustainable future,” the Uzbek foreign minister concluded.
