Baker Hughes technologies to support the development of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the 27th International Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan — OGU 2025” and the ongoing International Energy Forum in Tashkent, the leadership of JSC Uzbekneftegaz held a meeting with representatives of Baker Hughes.

It was noted that cooperation with Baker Hughes has already delivered tangible results in the field of deep drilling. Notably, in the geologically complex Ustyurt region, high-tech drill bits were successfully tested, enabling a record-setting drilling depth of 437 meters in a single run for this region.

Currently, joint operations are underway at 17 wells. Using advanced technologies, well No. 15 at the Northern Berdakh field and well No. 2 at Kuyi Shege have both been successfully drilled to a depth of 5,000 meters. Additionally, well No. 8 at the Western Kuyi Surgil field was completed in just 65 days, demonstrating the high efficiency of the applied solutions.

Looking ahead, these technologies are expected to be deployed at sites in the Bukhara-Khiva and Surkhandarya regions. Promising fields identified for further exploration include Termez, Namozboy, and Buzakhur.

The meeting marked another step toward enhancing the efficiency of drilling operations, advancing technological processes, and strengthening the capacity of Uzbekistan’s national oil and gas industry.
