Asian U-22 Boxing Championship: Uzbekistan’s Team Confidently Takes First Place
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Asian Boxing Championship for athletes under 22 concluded in Thailand. Uzbek boxers once again confirmed their leadership on the continent, demonstrating a high level of training and skill.
At the end of the tournament, our team won 8 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze medals, confidently securing first place in the overall team standings.
The continental champions were Gulsevar Ganieva (51 kg), Khumorabonu Mamadjanova (57 kg), Samandar Alimov (55 kg), Sayat Ilyasov (65 kg), Muhammadzizbek Ismoilov (70 kg), Shavkatjon Boltaev (75 kg), Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov (85 kg), and Halimjon Mamasoliev (over 90 kg).
Silver medals were won by Robiyahon Bakhtiyorova (48 kg), Uzukjamol Yunusova (54 kg), Oysha Tairova (70 kg), Shokhrukh Abdumalikov (60 kg), Rakhmatullo Boymatov (80 kg), and Shahzod Polvonov (90 kg).
Bronze medals added to the team’s tally came from Bekhruz Kholdorov (50 kg), Odinakhon Ismoilova (60 kg), Mohira Akhmedova (65 kg), and Diyorakhon Abdumannobova (over 81 kg).
It is worth noting that the day before, at the championship for boxers under 19, the Uzbekistan team also showed the best result, winning 7 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
